Seminar On Heart Diseases In Prisoners Held At Rawalpindi

Administration of Central Jail Adalia organized a seminor on Wednesday to create awareness among prisoners about heart related disease, The moot was held in collaboration with Pakistan National Heart Association(PANAH) and Social welfare department
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman PANAH Foundation Major General (Retd) Masood Ur Rehman Kiani said that ratio of death from cardiac disorder could be minimize through preventive measures.
He elaborated that Hypertension, Diabetes, Smoking, Obesity, Alcohol, Physical inactivity and stress are the most common causes of heart diseases which could be avoided through balance diet, regular exercise and regular medical checkup.
He said through adopting preventive measures, 80,000 deaths from heart diseases could be protected every year in the country.
He said prevention was the best and only way to control the rising death toll due to heart diseases.
Superintendent Jail, Mansoor Akbar, renowned Cardiologistjail officials and a number of prisoners attended the seminar.
