Three-day Anti-polio Campaign Kicks Off In Khanewal

Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry on Saturday inaugurated the three-day anti-polio campaign by administering anti-polio drops to children below 5 years of age here at the DHQ Hospital
The campaign will formally commence from April 22 and continue till April 26 in which 550,000 children below 5 years of age in the district will be administered anti-polio vaccines.
A total of 1264 fixed, mobile and transit teams have been assigned duties in this regard. The inaugural ceremony was largely attended besides children and parents by CEO Health Dr Shoaib Iqbal, DDHO Dr Asif, Focal Person Muhammad Amer, MS Dr Sumaira, representative WHO Dr Arshad and officials of Health Department.
On this occasion, the DC said it is our collective responsibility to make our country polio free and no child in the district should be deprived of vaccination. He appealed to the parents to prevent their children of age upto five yeas from permanent disability by vaccinating them with anti-polio drops.
