EU Envoy Hails UAE's Efforts To Promote Co-existence

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 26th Apr, 2019) Jan Figel, Envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion or belief outside the EU, has hailed the efforts made by the UAE to promote the values of peaceful co-existence.

The diplomat made the remarks as he, along with the EU's Ambassador to the UAE, Patrizio Fondi, today visited the premises of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments where they were briefed by Chairman Dr. Mohammad Mattar Al Kaabi, on the authority's endeavours to cement intercultural communication between the West and islam in order to uproot the scourge of terrorism and extremism and contribute to resolving the clash of civilizations.

The visiting EU official and his accompanying delegation learned about the Authority's efforts to promote social and religious awareness in line with the moderate teachings of Islam.

He visited the Official Fatwa Center where he was briefed about its way of answering to queries regarding matters relative to worship and creed.
