FNC Renews Pledge To Leadership To Continue Its Work On 47th Anniversary: Amal Al Qubaisi

The Federal National Council, FNC, renewed its pledge to the wise leadership to continue performing its constitutional tasks, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 11th Feb, 2019) The Federal National Council, FNC, renewed its pledge to the wise leadership to continue performing its constitutional tasks, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This statement was made by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the FNC, the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the FNC’s establishment.

Dr. Al Qubaisi said that the FNC will remain as the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the Founding Fathers wanted it to be, as the centre for the spirit of the federation and an ancient symbol of national unity, good citizenship and handling responsibilities in the best possible way, in a nation based on loyalty and belonging and the unity of the leadership, people, government and FNC in achieving its overall sustainable development.

Al Qubaisi pointed out that the FNC’s first meeting on 12th February, 1972, embodied its institutionalisation, which was present before the establishment of the federation by the Founding Leader, Sheikh Zayed.

"Providing counsel " Shoura Principal'' is an ancient heritage of the Emirati people and comes from the country’s traditions and the heritage of the grandfathers and fathers. Sheikh Zayed said that those who aimed to provide counsel, through establishing the FNC, are inseparable from the foundation of the country and its civilised advancement, and have established a solid foundation for a country that has become an example and role model of building people and employing resources, and a source of pride for its citizens, and admired and appreciated by the entire world," she added.

"The country’s empowerment, led with wisdom and merit by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa and based on the principles and values of Sheikh Zayed, have enabled it to provide counsel and develop, through empowering its citizens to participate in politics and decision-making," she further added.

Al Qubaisi affirmed that the anniversary of the FNC’s establishment is a celebration of the nation’s course of counsel, and a national institution that is a pillar of federal development and represents the spirit of unity and national cohesion, under the framework of the FNC, which the Founding Leader, Sheikh Zayed, considered as the conscience of the nation.

This year’s anniversary of the FNC’s establishment coincides with a new era of women’s empowerment, based on the directive of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa to raise the percentage of Emirati women in the FNC to 50 percent for the next legislative session, which reflects the country’s efforts to achieve the complete empowerment of Emirati women, she said in conclusion.
