295,883 Children To Be Immunized During Anti-polio Campaign

Naushehro Feroze, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jan, 2017 ) : Anti-Polio campaign will begin from January 19 to 22 during which 295,883 children of 5 year of age will be vaccinated in Naushehro Feroze, district.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner I, Mohammad Usman Tahir on Friday presided over a meeting to review the arrangements made for upcoming anti-polio campaign. He directed all the concerned officials to cover every nook and corner of the district for vaccination as this was our prime responsibility to eradicate polio from the country.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner has directed the polio teams to visit those areas where refusal cases were being reported during last anti polio drive and convince the parents to immunize their children from the deadly virus.
He also directed the concerned officers to resolve all problems of the polio workers so that 100 percent result could be achieved.
The Focal Person of anti polio campaign Dr Fida Hussain Memon informed the meeting that 728 teams including 625 mobile teams, 65 fixed points and 38 exit points teams had been formed for vaccination of the children all over the district.
He told the meeting that 295,883 children of under 5 years age would be vaccinated during the campaign. The meeting was informed that to cover refusal case additional one day catch up campaign will also be arranged.
The Polio Eradication officer of WHO Dr Sajid Ali Leghari, District Support Manager PPHI Dr Imdad Leghari, all Assistant Commissioners and officers of health, education and police departments were attended the meeting.
