437 Files Papers For 16 General Seats Of KP Assembly From Merged Areas

A total of 437 candidates have filed nomination papers for election against 16 general seats of merged areas for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly where election is due on July 2
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2019 ) :A total of 437 candidates have filed nomination papers for election against 16 general seats of merged areas for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly where election is due on July 2.
According to Provincial Election Commission, as many as 30 women filed their nomination papers against four reserved seats and nine for one minority seat.
A total of six appeals were filed by contesting candidates against decisions of Returning Officers (ROs) in Appellate Tribunals for upcoming elections in erstwhile Fata.
During scrutiny process, 23 nomination papers of different candidates contesting on general seats were rejected and 414 accepted.
Similarly, 22 nomination papers on women reserved seats were rejected and eight accepted by ROs.
Six nomination papers for one minority seat were rejected and three accepted by the Returning Officers.
The last date for postal ballot paper for government servants and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) is June 20 whereas June 24 is fixed for polling staff.
