Academicians, Media's Role Imperative For Masses' Mobalization For Clean Green Pakistan: Experts

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Oct, 2018 ) :Clean Green Pakistan, a flagship initiative of PTI Govt, has carried significant importance in tackling of environmental and water pollution in the country and pro-active role of academicians, civil society and media role was vital for masses mobilization to make this ambitious program a success.
Member National Assembly (MNA) Nasir Khan Musazai told APP on Wednesday that Clean and Green Pakistan was very important project of PTI government in the wake of daunting challenges posed by global warming and climate change.
He said PTI Govt has taken a lead role by planting over one billion trees during last three years in Khyber Pakthunkhwa to offset the growing effects of climate change and global warming.
Musazai said Prime Minister Imran Khan has inaugurated Clean and Green Pakistan as he was well aware of importance of forests, wildlife and clean environment. He said 10 billion saplings would be planted during next five years in the country.
Former Information Minister, Misal Khan has also welcomed Clean and Green Pakistan and termed a leap step forward to address water, environmental pollution and make the country green.
He said criticism just for sake of criticism should be avoided by political opponents and hands of PTI government should be strengthened to take the country out of existing challenges.
Misal Khan said media was the forth pillar of the state and its role is crucial in mobalization of masses to make Clean and Green Pakistan a success.
He said focus should be made on cleanliness of waste and filth in rural areas including villages and towns besides rivers and canals from plastic bags as these are harmful for fish lives.
Professor Economic Department, University of Swabi Dr, Muhammad Naeem has also welcomed inauguration of the Clean and Green Pakistan and termed it a significant step towards self sufficiency and protection of forests and wildlife resources.
He said God has bestowed Pakistan abundance of natural resources including forests and PTI Govt Billions Trees Afforstration Project has increased forestry covered areas by 26.3pc in last three years that was praised worthy. Dr Naeem suggested special clubs of students at educational institutions and colleges for clean and green Pakistansuccess.
