Afghan President Telephones PM Imran, Invites Him To Visit Afghanistan

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th January, 2019) Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has telephoned Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss bilateral issues.
The leaders of both the countries discussed Afghan peace process and discussed matters of mutual interest.
According to media reports, the Ashraf Ghani invited Imran Khan to visit Afghanistan.
The prime minister accepted the invitation.
Both of them agreed to extend their bilateral relations.
The phone call came after United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad visited Kabul for talks with President Ashraf Ghani and other senior leaders on the next steps in the peace process for Afghanistan.
Khalilzad's visit was part of his ongoing effort to coordinate with the National Unity Government and other stakeholders in the country to ensure an Afghan-led peace process.
Pakistan and US want to support and facilitate an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process in Afghanistan, empowering the Afghan people to chart a shared course for their nation's future.
