ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :"Mirror Aayiney", an exhibition of exclusive paintings by the talented poet, artist Ahmed Habib started here at Nomad Art and Culture Center.

In this exhibition, the artist has created riches from rags in a truly unique and inspiring narrative. Used fabric plays a pivotal role in creating rich, subtle but sensuous surfaces as the textures absorb your senses in the creativity and poetic nuances - while words play hide and seek as in the approach of a bridge to cross over to a fertile ground and imagination.

What makes a Man superior from the rest of the species is his journey towards the unending self reliance in self development.

Artist Ahmed Habib said that as an artist he have come a long way where both his friends and critics have been quite vocal in a sense that it forced him to face the mirror of my development every day.

He said that "the theme of the current exhibition is the "Mirrors" but here I have used the personals belongings especially the worn-out clothes as mirrors into my soul".

"I am one of those who believe that humans too can develop an emotional relationship with non living things such as old and worn-out clothes and some personal belongings" he said.

He said that they are the windows into our past, they have imprinted on them our fragrances, joys and sorrows and they can take you back on a dj vu trip down to your fading memory lane.

"The embossed butterflies and ragged pieces of worn out clothes that I have used in paintings have my precious movements captured in them as we did not have the modern day gadgets and artificial memories back then when we were just ordinary humans and not slaves to our ambitions" Ahmed Habib said.

He said experimenting something new was surely a gamble which I was willing to take for so long, adding that these paintings are the heart and soul of my past full of predicaments, failures and my idiosyncrasies which can play mirrors to many.

"What I hope from this exhibition is that every viewer would muster up his/her courage to open the closet and face the mirror in cotton, linen or even silk" he said.
