Anti-Dengue Day Observed

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th july, 2016) : Following the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Dengue Prevention Day was observed in district here Saturday.
All government, semi-government departments, educational institutions, offices and premises of these organizations were cleaned, besides holding special walks and seminars to create awareness among the masses against dengue and to take all precautionary measures for protection from this disease.
A walk and seminar were arranged at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University to create awareness about dengue and its prevention. PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion.
He said that awareness plays a key role in fighting dengue as prevention is for better than cure. He stressed upon the need to promote awareness about the dengue fever in all segments of society especially among the students, enabling them to curb the menace of dengue fever.
He said it is responsibility of every citizen to play his role for controlling Dengue and protecting the residents from this dangerous disease.
Earlier, an awareness walk, led by PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad, was also arranged to create awareness against dengue fever.
The walk participants were carrying banners and posters bearing precautionary measures against Dengue and urging the citizens to maintain cleanliness in and around their homes. Rawalpindi Development Authority RDA, Water and Sanitation Agency WASA and Tehsil Muncipal Administration TMA observed anti-dengue day and pledged to adopt precautionary measures to avert the threat of dengue virus.
The local leadership of PML-N including MNA Tahira Aurangzeb,the City President Sardar Nasim, MPA Raja Hanif advocate, Lubna Rehan, Tehseen Fawad, Zaib-un-Nisa, ADCG Nazia Perveen Sudhan, District Coordination Officer DCO Talat Mehmood Gondal, Executive education Officer Qazi Zahoor and other officials attended the anti dengue awareness walk.
