Asma Torture Case: Husband, Employee Sent To Jail

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2019 ) :A local court on Monday sent two accused, including a man who allegedly tortured his wife and shaved her head off over refusal to dance before his friends, to jail on judicial remand for two weeks.

Judicial Magistrate Shahid Zia conducted the case proceedings in Model Town Courts, wherein the police produced Mian Faisal, husband of victim Asma Aziz, and his employee Rashid on expiry of the 4-day physical remand.

Police also submitted an investigation report besides recovered material including a trimmer, hair of the victim and a pipe used in alleged torture.

Asma Aziz, also appeared in the court along with her counsel.

Asma told the court that her husband tortured her over refusal to dance before his friends and shaved her head with a trimmer, in response to a court query.

Asma's counsel argued that the accused also attempted to kill her with knife but the police did not include relevant Sections in the FIR.

At this, the court ruled that it would make a decision in this regard after reviewing the medical report of the victim.

Subsequently, the court sent the accused to jail on judicial remand besides seeking a medical report of the victim.

Kahna police had registered an FIR against the accused under Sections 337 and 506 of Pakistan Penal Code.
