At Least 2 People Killed, 15 Injured As Explosion Hits Mosque In Western Pakistan- Reports

At least two people were killed and at least 15 others were injured on Friday as an explosion hit a mosque in the western Pakistani city of Quetta, Geo TV broadcaster reported, citing regional emergency services
NEW DELHI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th May, 2019) At least two people were killed and at least 15 others were injured on Friday as an explosion hit a mosque in the western Pakistani city of Quetta, Geo tv broadcaster reported, citing regional emergency services.
According to Geo TV, the explosion took place during a prayer in which from 30 to 40 people participated.
Radio Pakistan specified, citing police sources, that unidentified people had planted a homemade bomb inside the mosque, behind a� pulpit where the imam stands during religious services.
Three of those injured are in critical condition.
The explosion was so powerful that windowpanes of nearby houses were shattered.
Police has encircled the site of the incident. Investigation is underway.
No terrorist group operating in Pakistan has assumed responsibility for the explosion yet.
