Awareness workshop about drip irrigation system held

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : The Water Management Department organised an awareness workshop about drip irrigation system at Ayub Agriculture Research Institute (AARI) here.

Director Agriculture Chaudhry Abdul Hameed was chief guest while Deputy Director Water Management Dr Muhammad Asif, officials and farmers attended the workshop.

Director Agriculture said that drip irrigation is most advanced technology through which better per acre production could be achieved despite shortage of water.

Under this system, water is only applied where it is needed (at the plant's roots) which soaks into the soil before it can evaporate or run off, he said.
