A delegation of Chinese scholars and experts has termed Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to China successful and said cooperation of the two countries would improve economy of Pakistan and increase connectivity beneficial to the region

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2018 ) :A delegation of Chinese scholars and experts has termed Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to China successful and said cooperation of the two countries would improve economy of Pakistan and increase connectivity beneficial to the region.

A Chinese delegation is presently visiting Pakistan and holding meetings with Pakistan's scholars, experts and officials to get firsthand information about China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The participants of the delegation noted that during the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China various Memorandums of Understanding were signed to further boost the relations of the two countries and take them to new heights.

Head of the delegation Vice President China Institute of International Studies Rong Ying said, "Despite the change in the region and local scenarios, China and Pakistan relations never changed and the ties between the two countries strengthened with the passage of time." He said that China and Pakistan were best friends and China will not leave Pakistan alone in difficult times. However, he said that Pakistan should adopt short and long terms strategies to come out of economic crisis.

He stressed that Pakistan should focus on enhancing its exports, adding media should show raise profile of CPEC.

In five years since BRI was launched and the focus has been laid on development of connectivity and infrastructure building in partners countries.

He said that till date, 130 countries or international organisations had either signed memorandums of understandings (MoU) or had expressed interest in joining BRI, which is an open-ended and inclusive initiative.

Director of Centre for South Asia Study and Chinese academy of Social Sciences Ye Hailin said, "I have been visiting Pakistan for the last 20 years and relations between the two countries moved forward with every passing year." He said president of China launched the Belt and Road Initiative to promote regional connectivity.

He was of the view that the project of the Road and Belt Initiative would be successful with the full cooperation and participation of the member countries.

He appreciated the government of Pakistan and armed forces for providing security to Chinese workingunder CPEC. He stressed the need for joint action against the menace of terrorism.

Second Secretary of Department of Asian Affairs and Ministry of foreign Affairs Qin Wenci asked the Pakistani government to focus to increase exports. "Pakistan should focus on improving manufacturing sector as it will help to increase exports," she added.
