Commissioner D I Khan Tuesday pledged full support of Divisional Administration to TESCO in curbing electricity theft and recovery of arrears.
He was chairing a high level meeting held at his office, this afternoon. The meeting was attended beside others by Chief Executive TESCO Mian Hamid, Additional Director, XENs of newly established Tribal Districts of South and North Waziristan. Briefing the meeting regarding performance of TESCO, the Chief Executive Mian Hamid said that recovery of arrears was the main challenge faced by this organization.
He said electricity theft was not a problem because electric meters of most of the consumers especially industrial, commercial and agricultural consumers were installed in premises of Grid Stations.
On this occasion, expressing his views, the Commissioner D I Khan resolved to extend full cooperation and support to curb the menace of electricity theft and recovery of huge arrears.
He advised that all recoveries should be made in time so that recovery operations or other strict measures could be avoided, which not only causes inconvenience for the general public but also put extra burden on state machinery.
He hoped that people of Tribal Areas would fully cooperate, because elimination of electricity theft and recovery of arrears was the only solution to the heavy load shedding and low voltage, adding that uninterrupted power supply could be ensured only by adopting these measures.
