Commissioner Malakand Inaugurates Festival 'Sperlay Da Khushalo'

LOWER DIR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2019 ) :Commissioner Malakand Division Riaz Mehsud has formally inaugurated the festival "Sperlay the Khushalo" at Government College of Technology.

Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Commandant Dir Task Force Col.Amir Shahzad, District Police Officer, Arif Shahbaz, All Assistant Commissioners, MNA Syed Mehboob Shah, MPA, Liaqat Ali, MPA Bahadar Khan, District Nazim Muhammad Rasool Khan, Ex: Senator Ahmad Hassan Khan, Heads of Line Departments, TMOs were in attendance.

The Commissioner in his address stated that spring festivals have been launched under the Youth Engagement Initiative to divert attention of the youths toward sports ground and promote peace and harmony through games.

He lauded the role of Pak Army, Law enforcement agency for maintaining law & order and restoration of writ of the government in Malakand Division. He stated that such like event will portray the soft image of the area.

Deputy Commissioner and other dignitaries inspected various stalls. Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai also highlighted the purpose of the festival.

Commandant Dir Task Force Col Amir Shahzad during his speech stated that Pak Army will cooperate for such like events. During the Festival the Forest Department Dir Lower distributed 1200 free of cost saplings amongst the general public.

On the first day of the festival, Kabadi, Gymnastic and Volly Ball matches were arranged.

The Civil Defense Department arranged mock exercise about rescue operation. The present government is interested to promote sports and tourism in Dir Lower as this district has potential in both the sectors.

The General public appreciated the step taken by the Provincial Government for arranging the festival and demanded that such like festival may be arranged in future.
