COMSATS Arranges Events To Pay Tributes To Martyrs

The COMSATS University Islamabad on the occasion of Defence and Martyrs Day Thursday arranged events for paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the honour and security of the motherland.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Sep, 2018 ) :The COMSATS University Islamabad on the occasion of Defence and Martyrs Day Thursday arranged events for paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the honour and security of the motherland.
The events started with a walk from the university's roundabout and ended in front of library, said a press release.
Registrar COMSATS University Dr Fahim Ashraf Qureshi led the walk which was participated by a large number of faculty members and students. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Fahim Ashraf said the martyrs were national heroes who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the nation and the country.
The great nations always remembered their heroes, he added.
Focal person of the events Uzma Kabir also paid tribute to the martyrs and emphasized the need that new generation should follow these heroes by preparing themselves with latest educational and technological trends.
Students from different societies at COMSATS University also paid tribute to the national heroes by singing beautiful national songs which were appreciated by the guests and students.
The last event in this regard was the plantation drive at Koral Chok in which more than 350 faculty staff and students took part. About 1400 plants were planted.
