Construction Of Dams, Reservoirs Imperative To Save Water: Former Minister For Defence Engr Khurram Dastgir Khan

Former Minister for Defence Engr Khurram Dastgir Khan has said construction of dams and reservoirs were imperative in the country.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2018 ) :Former Minister for Defence Engr Khurram Dastgir Khan has said construction of dams and reservoirs were imperative in the country.
Two dams were constructed in Pakistan in early 60s but since 40 years no dam had been constructed due to which, the country was facing water shortage, he said this while talking to a private news channel.
He said the PML-N during fivers of constitutional tenure, had approved water policy with the consensus of all stake holders but now it was essential to develop mechanism to construct big and small dams in the country.
Khurram Dastgir said if any province had reservations on Kalabagh dam then we should construct other dams to overcome water shortage.
He said many dams and reservoirs could be constructed in Northern areas.
