Corruption A Canker To Curb Economic Growth: Usman Zaman

Director Anti-Corruption Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Usman Zaman Saturday said that corruption is a canker to curb the economic growth and destroy a nation.
He said this in a statement issued here to celebrate Anti-Corruption week on December 9.
He said that corruption is a threat which stopped the socio-economic progress and causing huge damage to economy.
He said that Anti-Corruption department was doing sincere efforts to eradicate corruption from society as well as the country.
Usman Zaman said they believe in ensuring a corruption-free province and working to resolve the issue.
Usman informed that Anti-Corruption has arrested 52 persons involved in corruption and registered 44 other cases while 739 cases were at the inquiry stage right now and 1676 complaints have been registered during last eleven months.
He said there was need to amend law for elimination of corruption and the provincial government brought Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Procurement of Goods, Works and Services Rules, 2014.
He said corruption is a disease and it is the responsibility of every individual to play a vital role in its elimination, adding, if corruption goes unabated it would destroy all our country.
He urged all citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take a collective stand againstthis disease and play role in stabilizing the country.
