Data of 10 crore Pakistanis feared to have been leaked

The data of 10 crore Pakistani citizens has been leaked due to negligence of Nadra, PTA and mobile phone companies.

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th December, 2018) The data of 10 crore Pakistanis has reportedly been compromised.

According to a news report published in a local newspaper, the data of 10 crore Pakistani citizens has been leaked due to negligence of Nadra, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and mobile phone companies.

The report added that when the mobile number is entered on various websites in America, Britain and Pakistan, it shows the rest of the details of the user on screen.

These include full name, temporary and permanent address, CNIC number and telephone numbers.

This has compromised the data of at least 10 crore Pakistanis, including personal information of women.

The previous government had done biometric verification of all the mobile phone holders under the supervision of PTA.

Now that the data has been compromised due to negligence of Nadra and PTA, it is feared that the international hackers can use it for ulterior objectives.
