ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2021 ) :The long awaited dream of the people of Dera Murad Jamali, particularly of its urban population to control the traffic mess at last turned into reality as construction work on two-lane Dera Murad Jamali Bypass (N-65) was inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on 28 April, last week.
The formal commencement of work on the project is clear manifestation of the government's resolve to bring the Balochistan province at par with other provinces in national economic development and prosperity of the people.
The 11.190 km long route being constructed at the total cost of Rs 1456.32 and approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on 22 April 2020, would be proved as real game changer both for the rural and urban population through bringing a big change in their lives. With current PSDP allocation of Rs 1000 million for the fiscal year 2020-21, the project would be completed in a period of 18 months.
According to the most credible estimate, the average daily inflow and outflow of traffic at Dera Murad Jamali is 6342 vehicles, with mostly the heavy commercial vehicles. All these vehicles were using short and conventional routes passing through thick populated commercial and residential areas of Dera Murad Jamali city and its outskirts, thereby making the lives of the local people miserable. Now, the construction of 7.3 meter fenced Bypass would not only put far reaching positive impact on lives of the local people, but would save precious time and resources through boosting 12.5 percent rate of internal returns.
As per commitment of the present government, the people of Balochistan province are experiencing the 'visible and real change' around them. The project would, undoubtedly, proved as lifeline for expediting the economic activities through the western route of China-Pak Economic Corridor Project (CPEC).
