Chief Minister (CM) Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal said that the import and export of country could be increased from taking advantage of different location of province's geographical.

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Sep, 2018 ) :Chief Minister (CM) Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal said that the import and export of country could be increased from taking advantage of different location of province's geographical.

He said this while talking to Director General of National Logistic Cell (NLC) Major General Muhammad Asim Iqbal at his office, said press release here on Saturday.

CM said the extension of immigration and customs facilities on Pak-Afghan and Iran borders' establishment of cargo terminals would not only provide opportunities of jobs for local people, but also situation of peace would improve in the area.

DG NLC briefed the CM Jam Kamal about the construction projects of Khush-Godi in Chaman and Cargo terminal along with Taftan and other border areas of the province Balochistan which would provide necessary facilities for promoting of trade activities in the area.

CM said minerals and other products of the area would be reached to international markets from taking advantage of geographical location of the province and intensification of infrastructure of communication.

"Balochistan is a shortest way to connect Iran to other countries of Europe and world, while it is also possible to access Central Asia through Afghanistan", he said and adding that trade activities coul be uplifted in the areas.

He also expressed satisfaction over the project to establish cargo terminal in Chaman and urged DG NLC that the need to be set up cargo terminal at Taftan and other border areas.

"Local people should take confidence in these projects to ensure protection of their rights", he stressed.

He appreciated DG NLC on taking measures for providing facilities to masses on transit and different highways including Taftan.

Chief Minister and DG NLC also discussed rehabilitation of Harnai and Sibi Railway track during meeting.

DG NLC told the CM Jam Kamal that Harnai and Sibi Railway track project 95 percent of construction has been completed and it would be opened soon for railway services.

DG Muhammad Asim Iqbal assured the CM that the NLC would cooperate with construction of communication infrastructure in Balochistan.
