Election Commission Of Pakistan Directs To Hold Inquiry Into Result Transmission System

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday directed to hold an inquiry into the Result Transmission System (RTS) during conduct of general election- 2018 and afterwards.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Aug, 2018 ) :Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday directed to hold an inquiry into the result Transmission System (RTS) during conduct of general election- 2018 and afterwards.
According to an official of ECP, in this regard a letter has been written to the Secretary Cabinet Division and directed that the inquiry must conclude within four weeks and if required, other expert opinion may also be utilized after the permission of the ECP.
The terms of reference of the said inquiry will be analysing the concept of RTS in terms of its implementability, analysing the project of RTS as envisaged by the ECP, analysing preparation and finalization of RTS project by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), analysing quality and extent of training imparted to various users under the project.
The terms of reference also included analyzing the train of events taking place on the night of July 25 and thereafter, fixing responsibility of the responsible and making recommendations for future course of action.
The letter said that the direction has been issued in terms of Article 220 read with Article 218(3) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 to constitute an inquiry committee consisting of technical experts from National Telecommunication and Information Technology Security board (NTISB) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
