Electricity Production Surpasses Demand, Shortfall Zero

According to the spokesperson for Power Division, the entire demand of electricity in the country was 15,701 MW at 8:30am while its production was 17,500 MW. The electricity shortfall was recorded as zero.

The spokesperson said that load management is being done in areas having power theft accordingly.

The citizens will be provided uninterrupted power supply this summer.

The Energy Ministry has announced that load management will be done this summer and the consumers will be provided uninterrupted power supply. However, the electricity consumers should also be careful and conserve energy.

According to the spokesperson for Power Division, there is zero electricity shortfall in the country.

The electricity demand remained at 16,020 MW on Monday while its production was 17,500 MW.

Meanwhile, the government is making special arrangements to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity during the holy month of Ramadan, especially at Sehr and Iftar timings.

The prime minister has also directed the Ministry of Power to have special focus on introducing modern technology in transmission and distribution sector so that the problems of transmission and distribution system could be addressed.
