GB Government To Take Steps For Protection Of Forests: Minister

Provincial Forest Minister Gilgit Baltistan Imran Waqeel said Monday that the provincial government was taking solid steps to protect forests and rare wildlife species in all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
ASTORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :Provincial Forest Minister Gilgit Baltistan Imran Waqeel said Monday that the provincial government was taking solid steps to protect forests and rare wildlife species in all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Talking to media, the GB Forest minister said that there was a need to make collective efforts to protect the forests and effectively face the challenges in wake of global warming and added the government was utilizing all possible resources on this front to achieve the objective.
He said that a resolution had been submitted seeking proper legislations to save the forests of Gilgit Baltistan and provide healthy environment to masses of the area.
"We will campaign and convince the local communities of different areas to save their forest by joining hands with the government in this regard," the minister said.
He said that local people realizing the importance of wild life were committed to cooperating with wildlife officials in achieving the set targets.
