Govt. Chalks Out Strategy Against Sheesha, Smoking At Public Places

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Sep, 2016 ) : District Administration has chalked out a comprehensive strategy to raid hotels, restaurants to prevent smoking at public places and use of "Sheesha".
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of District Implementation & Monitoring Committee (DI&MC) for Tobacco Control held at the office of Deputy Commissioner here Friday. The meeting was attended by police officials, representatives of Tobacco Control Cell, Social Welfare, Health, education, Traffic Police, Information and Transporters.
The meeting was informed that in first phase, awareness campaign would be launched through bill boards, posters, pamphlets, seminars and workshops to sensitize public regarding hazards of smoking and use of Sheesha.
Fine would be imposed on smoking at public places for which various teams were constituted comprising police and health authorities and other concerned departments. It merits a mention here that government has already tabled a bill in provincial assembly banning smoking at public places.
