MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Mar, 2023 ) :Deputy Managing Director National Power Control Center (NPCC) Islamabad, Ali Zain, said that the government was taking long-term measures to meet the electricity needs of the country.
National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC) was working on the projects to remove the defects in the transmission and grid stations system and the consumers across the country including South Punjab would get power supply with better voltages after completion of it.
He expressed these views while addressing a high-level meeting held at MEPCO headquarters here on Thursday.
He said that the Ministry of Power officials were continuously monitoring the production and supply of electricity in the country.
He ordered NTDC and MEPCO teams to work together to remove faults in the transmission and grid systems.
General Manager Operations MEPCO Nasir Ayaz Gurmani and Chief Engineer O&M Rana Muhammad Ayub Khan gave briefing on 220KV and 500KV system constraints in 13 districts of South Punjab under MEPCO region.
They said that the faults found in MEPCO's 132KV grid stations and transmission system have been removed.
Work was in progress on few projects which would be completed by the end of the current financial year 2022-23, they added.
MEPCO officials also suggested to establish 220KV grid station in chowk Azam for the upgradation of power system in South Punjab.
On this occasion, Deputy Director System Operations NPCC Muhammad Saeed, Chief Engineer T&G Chaudhry Khalid Nazir and other officials were present.
