IGP Reviews Security Cover For Vaccinators At Sensitive UCs

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jan, 2019 ) :Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Dr Syed Kalim Imam here on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements made for ongoing oral polio vaccination campaign in the province.

Emphasizing that no complacency can be allowed at current point of time, he said that eradication of polio virus from the local environment was a collective responsibility.

Police too is a stakeholder and have to realize the responsibility towards the children without any compromise, he said.

The IGP particularly appreciated that police commandos have been deputed at all 30 sensitive union councils (UCs) of Karachi during the ongoing campaign.

"Each and every single worker is important and have to be provided needed assistance enabling them to deliver," said the Sindh police chief.

Karachi police officials in their briefing to the chief said that besides plain clothed cops, along with unformed personnel, have also been deputed at each of the sensitive UC.

Snap checking, patrolling and picketing were claimed to beparticularly strengthened during the vaccination hours.
