IHC Issues Notice To NAB Over Nawaz's Plea

A two-member Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench Monday resumed hearing of a petition of former prime minister regarding alleged alteration in the statement of prosecution's witness Wajid Zia, head of Panama Papers joint investigation team (JIT), in the Al-Azizia reference.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Sep, 2018 ) :A two-member Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench Monday resumed hearing of a petition of former prime minister regarding alleged alteration in the statement of prosecution's witness Wajid Zia, head of Panama papers joint investigation team (JIT), in the Al-Azizia reference.

Justice Athar Manullah and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani heard the petition and issued a notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Nawaz's counsel Khawaja Harris adopted the stance that during the cross-examination, Zia's statement was recorded, which was changed by the judge due to objection by the NAB prosecutor.

"Let us listen the stance of NAB authorities also," said the judge and summoned them on Tuesday.
