Intelligent Transport System To Be Employed On M-3

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jan, 2019 ) :An Intelligent Transport System (ITS) is being employed at all along Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M-3) making it a state of the art project.
This was stated in a briefing session headed by Chairman National Highway Authority Jawwad Rafique Malik here.
Consultant of the project Abdul Basit and Chief Executive of China Railway 20 Co. Pakistan Private Limited Li Jieyong giving a detailed briefing informed that steps were underway for the earliest completion of Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway.
The latest digital system was employed at the project which included handling emergencies, controlling traffic accidents, lane marking, placement of LED screens, electronic toll collection, weigh station system and installation of Optic Fiber Cable, they said.
Maximum civic and travelling facilities should also be ensured at service areas while highspeed vehicles would be monitored through cameras, he said.
Such digital system should also be installed along other motorways gradually, he informed.
