Islamabad High Court suspends order for vacating residences from judges

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday suspended the notification of Ministry of Housing and Works regarding vacating government residences from lower judiciary's judges and served notices to the respondents.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2018 ) :The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday suspended the notification of Ministry of Housing and Works regarding vacating government residences from lower judiciary's judges and served notices to the respondents.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the IHC heard the case filed by 33 judges of lower judiciary against the decision of Ministry of Housing and Works. During the course of proceedings, Justice Siddiqui remarked the ministry's notification was based on dishonesty.

The judges of lower judiciary, who were running their courts in commercial areas, were entitled to obtain government residences in accordance of law. The court served notices to the Minister for Housing, Secretary Housing and Estate Officer and adjourned the case for two weeks.
