Islamabad High Court Suspends Sentences Of Nawaz, Maryam, Safdar

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday suspended conviction of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar awarded by National Accountability Court in Avenfield corruption reference and ordered their release.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2018 ) :The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday suspended conviction of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar awarded by National Accountability Court in Avenfield corruption reference and ordered their release.

A two-member bench of Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb gave the judgment on petitions filed by Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safdar challenging the Avenfield verdict against them.

Justice Minallah read the judgment.The bench announced the judgment after both sides concluded their arguments.
