LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2018 ) :The Lahore High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition challenging delimitation of PP-149 Lahore, after declaring it non-maintainable. Justice Shahid Karim heard the petition filed by Provincial education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan.
During the proceedings, the petitioner's counsel argued that it was mandatory to seek objections on proposed delimitation from voters and candidates before finalizing it. However, no objections were sought from voters and neither they were heard before finalizing delimitation of PP-149, he said.
He contended that the Election Commission carried out delimitation of PP-149 in violation of rules. He pleaded with the court to set aside the delimitation of the constituency.
