Law And Order Situation Improved In Balochistan; Ijaz Ahmed Shah

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2019 ) :Federal Minister Interior, Brigadier Syed Ijaz Ahmed Shah on Thursday said the law and order situation was improved as compare to that in the past and terrorist activities were reduced in Balochistan.

He expressed these views while talking to media after conclusion a meeting at Chief Secretary Office during his visit at Quetta.

He said that sincere measures were being taken to curb terrorist activities across the country including Balochistan, adding that exemplary peace was maintained in the province during Muharram-ul-Haram. He also appreciated the role of law enforcement of agencies including Frontier Corps (FC), police, Levies Force and other security forces for restoring peace in Balochistan.

He said comprehensive plan has been formulated to enhance capacity of law enforcement agencies in accordance with recommendations to introduce professional system. "Safe city projects in the province including Quetta are important and reports were being sought to review progress of work on it", he said.

The Interior Minister maintained that security forces have performed satisfaction for restoring peace despite having limited resources in the province. He said the federal government was striving to enhance capacity of law enforcement agencies including police, FC, Levies and other forces in order to control any untoward situation for ensuring good governance. "Prime Minister Imran Khan is monitoring the role of ministers to ensure actionable measures of projects and focusing them for the interest of the country", he said.

Replying to a question, he said it was a democratic right of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman to hold a peaceful sit-in, but no one would be allowed to take law into own hands.

He said Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman has remained the Chairman of Kashmir Committee for ten years and we hope that Maulana would not do so in view of current situation of Occupied Kashmir.

Answering to another question, Syed Ijaz Ahmed Shah said anyone who commits crime must face punishment, saying arrested of Syed Khursheed Shah would not impact the overall situation of the country.

To another question, he said the NAB deals with people under plea bargaining rules and the government does not interfere in such action. "Nawaz Sharif was arrested by NAB so he can deal with the NAB which was a matter between NAB and Nawaz Sharif", he said.

He said it was important to educate our people and society so that they would not be misused against the country by enemy.

Ijaz Ahmed Shah said we and media personnel have to play their positive role to increase awareness among citizens to ensure sustainable development and stability in the country.

Chief Secretary Balochistan Fazeel Asghar, Secretary Home Balochistan, Inspector General of Police (IGP), IG, FC and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
