LBA Secretary Issue: Lawyers Call Off Strike

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2019 ) :The lawyers fraternity here on Thursday called off their strike over registration of a case against Lahore Bar Association (LBA) Secretary General Maqsood Khokhar.

The lawyers called off the strike after the police agreed to quash the case registered against the LBA secretary in a meeting held in the evening with lawyers' representatives.

The lawyers representatives announced that the court proceedings would resume as per routine on Friday.

Earlier, the lawyers continued their protest for a third day on Thursday morning and boycotted court proceedings. The lawyers demanded for withdrawing the case against Maqsood Khokhar in a general house meeting of Lahore Bar Association.

Islampura police had registered a case against LBA Secretary Maqsood Khokhar under Section 382 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
