Literary Festival To Commence From April 6 At BZU

MULTAN, April 5,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Apr, 2017 ) : An opening ceremony of a two-day first ever literary festival featuring ancient statues, exhibition of antiques, poetic sitting and Sham-i- Ghazal will be held on April 6 (Thursday) at the Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU).
Sidra Saeed, an organizer of the festival, told APP here on Wednesday Punjab Higher education Commission (PHEC) Chairman Dr Nazimuddin would preside over the festival while famous writer Asghar Nadeem Syed will be a key note speaker.
She added Allama Iqbal Open university VC Dr Shahid Siddiqi, Secretary National Book Foundation Ishfaq Ahmed Malik and Dr Najeeb Jamal of Forman Christian College University would likely to attend the festival.
A poetic sitting and 'Sham-i-Ghazal' would also be a part of the festival, she said and added that singer Ghulam Ababs will perform on the second day of the festival. Known poets, including Mumtaz Athar, Prof Naseem Shahid, Dr Shozub Kazmi, Iqbal Sokri, Dr Nasrullah Khan Nasir, Prof Anwar Jamal, Naushaba Nargis, Mushfiq Raza Naqvi, Asghar Gormani, Rizwana Tabassum, will participate in the poetic sitting, she said.
The orgainzer stated that the PHEC in collaboration with the BZU was holding the festival.
