RAWALPINDI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 23rd March, 2019) Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad departed for his homeland on Saturday following the conclusion of his three-day visit of Pakistan.Prime Minister Imran Khan accompanied the Malaysian premier, who had arrived in the country on March 21, to the airport to see him off.
Ahead of his departure, Mahathir Mohamad was given a briefing on JF-17 Thunder fighter jets at the Nur Khan Airbase.Earlier during the day, the Malaysian prime minister attended the Pakistan Day parade in Islamabad as the guest of honour.During his stay, the Malaysian premier held meetings with Pakistan's top civil and military leadership.On Friday, Mahathir Mohamad was conferred the highest civil award Nishan-e-Pakistan at an impressive investiture ceremony held at the President House in Islamabad.
Addressing a banquet in honour of the Malaysian premier, President Arif Alvi said Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy brotherly relations which can be taken to new heights.Malaysia has shown keen interest in procuring JF-17 Thunder fighter planes and anti-tank missiles from Pakistan, Finance Minister Asad Umar told media after delegation-level talks between the two countries' leaders at Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Friday.
Umar said the visiting delegation sought participation of JF-17 Thunder aircraft in a defence fair to be held in Malaysia in the near future. NNI
