Meeting To Discuss Issues Of Disabled Persons Held: Additional Secretary Social Welfare Gilgit Baltistan Raja Rashid Ali

GILGLIT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Oct, 2018 ) :A delegation of disabled persons called on Additional Secretary Social Welfare Gilgit Baltistan Raja Rashid Ali and discussed issues being faced by them here on Monday.

The delegation expressed serious reservations over inordinate delay in legislation with regard to disabled persons and stressed the need for early fulfilling legal requirements for the proposed bill so that it could be tabled into the assembly at the earliest.

It also urged the social welfare department to remove hurdles in way provision of facilities through one-window to the disabled persons, adding quality of aids and assistive devices should also be improved.

During the meeting which was attended by chairman vision welfare foundation Irshad Qazmi and right activists for the disabled persons Amjad Naddem, the issue regarding provision of certificate for disability also came under discussion.

Moreover, the participants also discussed suggestions for extending relief to the disabled persons.

The additional secretary assured that the proposals would beduly considered while taking measures fr the disabled people.
