NA-Kashmir-Debate***ISLAMABAD

(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) Taking part in the debate, Sahibzada Tariqullah of Jamaat-i-Islami said there were 23 UN resolutions on Kashmir but was not yet implemented despite lapse of 70 years. He said India had herself brought the Kashmir issue to UN but now reluctant to implement the resolutions. He suggested that a delegation consisting members of this house and former foreign ministers besides members of Kashmir committee should pay visit world over to apprise the international community on Kashmir issue.
He also assured full support to the Kashmir Committee of the Parliament. Shahida Akhtar Ali of JUI-F said Kashmiri and Pakistani people were close by their heart and added Maulana Fazalur Rehman understand the sensitivity of the Kashmir issue.
She said that Kashmir committee should be more empowered to play more effective role in Kashmir issue. She said, we strongly condemn the barbaric acts of Indian forces against Kashmir people, adding Human Right Commission which was currently silent should play its role with regard to Kashmir issue and to break this inertia.
Shahida Akhtar Ali said unless Indian Army Act was repealed, martyrdom of people would continue and the independence movement would gain strength. She said Pakistan should extend moral and diplomatic support and being Muslim we are to make efforts to make Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) more functional and its commission on Kashmir should be made more active.
She expressed dismay that International Community had turned blind eye to atrocities by Indian forces, adding resolution should be passed on making OIC more functional. Dr Arif Alvi of PTI, said Kashmir Committee should play more effective role.
He expressed hope that Kashmir would get independence as there was indigenous movement in progress. Dr Arif Alvi was of the view that Kashmir Committee should have utilized role of media which played an important role in shaping opinion, but failed to do so. He said it was responsibility of Kashmir Committee to apprise international community on Kashmir issue.
