Imran Khan forgot to bring his ID card along to cast his vote for the election of NA speaker.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th August, 2018) The National Assembly session to elect the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House is underway.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq is presiding the session.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan forgot to bring his ID card along to cast his vote for the election of NA speaker. However, Imran Khan was allowed to cast his vote after approval from Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and the polling agents.
After casting his vote, Imran Khan left for his residence without shaking hands with the speaker.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Abdul Qadir Patel objected over Imran Khan’s vote casting without ID card. To this, speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that Imran Khan cast his vote with my permission.
I will allow you too if you seek permission from me, he said. The NA speaker said that all the MNAs are equal for him.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) chanted slogans in the National Assembly. Khurram Dastagir held poster having Nawaz Sharif’s picture.
A cut-throat competition is expected between PPP's Syed Khurseed Ahmed Shah and and PTI's Asad Qaiser for top position of National Assembly speaker.
Total four candidates are in the run for the election of speaker and deputy speaker of Lower House of the Parliament.
For the slot of deputy speaker, joint opposition parties' candidate Maulana Asad Mehmood and PTI nominee Qasim Khan Suri will face each other.
