Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th December, 2018) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique in the Paragon Housing case on Tuesday.
The NAB team took them into custody after the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected their bail plea.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi held the hearing of the case and rejected the pre-arrest bail petition of Khawaja brothers.
Speaking to media after the arrest, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that their patience is being tested but we will continue to respect the courts.
"The voice of people cannot be suppressed.
The NAB didn't present any documentary evidence against us in the court," he said.
The PML-N leader also raised slogans with the party workers outside the court.
They had appeared before the court on Tuesday.
The LHC had on December 5 extended the interim bail of PML-N leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique till December 11.
Khawaja Salman Rafique was involved in Paragon City scam only whereas Khawaja Saad Rafique was not only involved in Paragon scam but Railway and Ashiana scams as well, as per NAB report submitted in the court earlier.
The NAB had issued arrest warrants of both brothers in Paragon scam.
