Need Of Extra-curriculum Education Stressed

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2017 ) :Pakistan Muslim League-N local leader and ex-provincial minister Abdul Waheed Araen said that there was a need to make extra-curriculum education as compulsory part of syllabus in educational institutes.
Talking to APP here on Tuesday, he said that extra-curricular activities were of vital importance in the society. These activities help in promoting healthy society, not in terms of physical but mentally also.
It develops sportsmanship and leadership qualities, he said.
Similarly, education on democratic and civic rights should also be inculcated in students, he said and added the best way to inform students about their civic and democratic rights was inclusion of democratic education in syllabus.
He lamented that students were not properly informed about their rights. He urged the government to re-design syllabus of educational institutes and more focus should be given on sensitization about civic, democratic and extra-curriculum rights.
