New CWAs At Pakistan' Missions Abroad To Resolve Workers' Issues

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : The newly appointed 18 Community Welfare Attaches (CWAs) in different Pakistan' Missions abroad would work to address the grievances of Overseas Pakistani workers effectively.
An official of Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development told APP that selection of CWAs was made purely on merit after conducting proper test and interview. Among the CWAs, Altamash Janjua would be joining his services in Kaula Lampur (Malaysia), Fizzah Niazi in Manchester (UK), Muhammad Hanif Channa in New York (US), Syed Haider Iqbal Naqvi in Athens (Greece), Najeeb Ullah Khan in Jeddah-I (Saudi Arabia), Umar Abbas in Barcelona (Spain), Rizwan Salabat in Milan (Italy) and Saulat Saqib in Dubai. Muhammad Shafiq Haider will serve in Seoul (South Korea), Basit Maqsood Abbasi in Jeddah-II (Saudi Arabia), Abdul Shakoor Shaikh in Riyadh-I (Saudi Arabia), Mahmood Latif in Riyadh-II (Saudi Arabia), Asma Ali Awan in Dubai-II (UAE), Fareeha Khan in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Hafiz Junaid Amir Sial in Doha (Qatar), Sayedah Ramallah Ali in Muscat (Oman), Muhammad Umar Jawaid in Kuwait and Waqas Ahmed in Baghdad (Iraq).
Besides these 18 CWAs, Maqsood Qadir Shah has already been serving in Bahrain and his tenure will be expired in April 2017.
The official revealed that each Community Welfare Attache (CWA) possesses the required experience and training. The written test for the post of CWAs was outsourced for transparency in appointments of the said attaches. The official said the services of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) were hired for conducting the written test in a transparent manner.
Those candidates who acquired 60% marks in written test were called for interview before a Committee headed by the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development and comprising of Secretary Establishment Division, Secretary Foreign Affairs, Secretary, Overseas Pakistanis and HRD and Additional Secretary, Prime Minister's Office.
As many as 18 qualified CWAs were allocated stations on the policy of merit-cum-choice, the official added.
