
New Monsoon Rain Spell Lashes Different Parts Of Country

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th july,2016) : New monsoon rain spell Wednesday lashed different parts of country, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhaw. Weather in Lahore turned pleasant as light and heavy rain occurred in the metropolis decreasing the temperature some 24 degree centigrade, a new channel reported. Similarly, the residents of Islamabad and also enjoyed in the intermittent rain, which started in the wee hours and continued till midday, Low-lying areas in Peshawar were also inundated in rain water. Gujranwala and Sialkot also received rain while locals faced difficulties due to land sliding in Nathiagali.
It may be noted that Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted monsoon rains from Tuesday to Thursday at a number of places in the country. According to Met Office Spokesman Arif Mahmood, good monsoon currents were likely to penetrate in upper & central parts of the country in next 48 hrs.
Due to monsoon incursion, rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls was expected at a number of places in Islamabad, Punjab, FATA, KP and Kashmir.
