Pak-French Ties Strengthened Considerably; To Flourish Further In

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2017 ) : Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Friday said that the bilateral relations between Pakistan and France had deepened considerably and the same would flourish further in days ahead particularly in economic field.
Addressing a reception hosted by the French Ambassador Martine Dorance at a hotel to celebrate the French National Day, the minister said Pakistan and France enjoyed good ties and the outgoing ambassador had particularly helped build a strong bond among the educational institutions of the two countries.
The ceremony was also attended by Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman, Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme Marvi Memon, Pakistan Muslim League chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Senator Abdul Qayyum and notables from cross sections of the society.
The national day reception marked playing of national anthems of both the countries and cutting of the celebratory cake. In his address, Khurram Dastgir lauded the ambassador's role for enhancement of cultural relations between Pakistan and France.
He said the three-year tenure of the outgoing envoy had been significant in improving the bilateral ties in multiple spheres. In her remarks, mostly in urdu, Ambassador Martine Dorance said Pakistan and France had been strong partners and cooperating with each other in many fields.
She said the economic ties between the two countries had strengthened during her three-year term. She believed that Pakistan and France enjoyed old ties and France would like to see Pakistan as a peaceful and developed country.
