ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2019 ) :Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Thursday said Pakistan had always desired to have dialogue process with India for resolving all longstanding issues, including the Kashmir dispute, between the two countries.
Talking to a private news channel, she said Prime Minister Imran Khan had already stated that Pakistan would take two steps forward for peace if India took one step for the purpose.
The special assistant said the prime minister had sent a message of congratulation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his party's victory in the Lok Sabha election.
The prime minister had also given a message to the international community that Pakistanis were a peace loving nation, which, however, should not be construed as their weakness.
She said Narendra Modi had again been given the mandate by the people of India. "We respects his mandate and are ready for negotiations with his government for resolving the lingering issues."Replying to a question, she said Narendra Modi would have to change his extremist mindset for peace in the region.
She said Pakistan had nothing to do with the Pulwama incident.
