Pakistan, China Recognize Need To Deepen Collaboration In Disaster Management Field

Pakistan and China on Monday recognized need to deepen their collaboration in field of disaster management.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :Pakistan and China on Monday recognized need to deepen their collaboration in field of disaster management.
An agreement to this effect was reached during a meeting between National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lt General Omar Mahmmood Hayat and a high level Chinese delegation headed by Vice Governor of Yunnan Province He Lianghui, which visited the NDMA.
Talking to the delegation, the NDMA chairman said both the countries were already collaborating in multiple fields and there was a strong need to share each other's experiences in managing disasters to improve prevention, mitigation and preparedness.
He said China-Pakistan relationship was based on strong strategic, economic and political foundations. Cooperation between the two neighbouring countries in field of disaster management would further promote friendly relations and strengthen constructive development and cooperation in areas of mutual interest, he added.
Lianghui conveyed their wish to work with Pakistan for exploring possibilities of mutual cooperation in field of disaster management.
Later, the delegation visited Pakistan Meteorological Department.
