Peace In Afghanistan Imperative For Peace, Development In Pakistan: KP Governor

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Shah Farman Wednesday said that Afghanistan was not only our brotherly neighbouring country but both Pakistan and Afghanistan share similar traditions and culture.
He expressed these views in a meeting with Ambassador of Afghanistan, Dr. Omer Zakhilwal, who called on him here at Governor House. He said Pakistan wants peace and development in Afghanistan as situation across the border affects Pakistan particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The governor emphasized strengthening of bilateral relation to promote culture, education and trade between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kabul.
He said that Pakhtun nation on both sides has similar history and due to this common factor KP people had great affection for Afghan people.
The governor said Pakistan and Afghanistan were independent countries and were free to take independent decision keeping in view the own values and traditions and as per aspirations of the two nations.
'We cannot ignore the Jirga system to seek the opinion, advice and focal wisdom of the tribal elders (Mashraan) in making decision' he added.
