
President For Improvement In Standard Of Medical Education

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday stressed improvement in standard of medical education in the country to produce professionally competent doctors so as to ensure efficient healthcare services.
Talking to Vice Chancellor National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Lt. Gen. Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President said medicine is a noble profession and its practitioners should discharge their responsibilities as a sacred duty. The President said in addition to medical services being provided by public-sector hospitals, the private sector also needs to complement the government's efforts in providing health services.
President Mamnoon called for establishment of more nursing hospitals for provision of healthcare facilities and overcoming the shortage of qualified nursing staff in the country. Congratulating Lt.
Gen. Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed on his appointment as Vice Chancellor NUMS, the President hoped that NUMS would make further strides in the field of medical education under his supervision. The Vice Chancellor NUMS briefed the President about matters pertaining to NUMS and its future plans regarding provision of healthcare services in a professional manner.
