Punjab Food Authority Seals Eight Food Points In Multan

Food safety teams of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) have sealed eight food points in the city and other parts of South Punjab on different violations of food safety guidelines.

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Nov, 2018 ) :Food safety teams of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) have sealed eight food points in the city and other parts of South Punjab on different violations of food safety guidelines.

The food points sealed included three sweets and bakers after these were found using chemicals and substandard colours, three groceries on selling banned item 'Gutka' and two chips factories for using substandard oil for frying food in unhygienic conditions.

PFA teams also imposed overall fine of Rs 262,000 on violators besides destroying sizable quantity of substandard food products and issued warnings to many.

PFA spokesman said that sweets and bakery shops were sealed after they found animal waste in cooking area, fungus on sweets.
